You Are That Joy

With this being “Passion” week, it is only fitting that we consider the divine love offering and sacrifice God made for us through His Son, Jesus Christ. I believe the excerpt below from “Come…Getting Acquainted with the Godhead” relays the personal and very intimate expression of His compassion for each of us. With this revelation, we say from the heart, “Thank You, Lord God, for Your great love for us. Thank You.”

God’s Plan – Once and For All

As much as the spirits of religion, tradition, and legalism attempt to cause and maintain division, God has set His plan for mankind and reveals it in His Word.  He sent His Son, Jesus Christ for all – no particular race, size, age, status (educational, economic or social), or country/nation.

He Loves More

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.  Greater love has no one more than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.        John 15:12-13

My family and I will end our conversations with a prayer, and after that one will say, “I love you.”  The other will respond, “I love you more.”  Occasionally, the other may add a playful, “I love you most.”  I know it’s corny; but it’s Valentine’s Day, so just go with me on this.

So this morning I called my mother; we ended with prayer and the “I love you” and “I love you more.”  A little later, as I sat at the desk, from my heart, I began thanking God for loving me so much.  I then said to Him, “I love You.”  He responded with an impression on my heart, “I love you more.”  I could feel/perceive the playfulness and depth in His heart by the manner in which His sentiment – in that moment – encompassed a lifetime+ of His love for me: salvation, deliverance, protection, healing, provision, care, encouragement…the list goes on and continues.  Even when I least suspect it; when I am having one of the worst moments – He loves me.

In the hustle, bustle, cards, candy, flowers, love and (unfortunately) lust; amidst the messages, remember this, He – the Lord God our Father – loves you more.

Amen.

It is all about intimacy with God.

No Fear, ONLY FAITH

When you become intimately acquainted with God – familiar with all He is, learning of His nature and characteristics – then Kingdom statements such as “No fear, ONLY FAITH” have real meaning.  During your passion/devotion time with Him you will discover that He does what He does because it is who He is.  In that, confidence, assurance and boldness develop, fueling our faith.

Glory to God!

Impact

We can spend our time spinning our wheels for all our days; justly attempting to figure out life, the world and our place in them; believing, even knowing that we have a purpose.  However, time spent well is in being intimately connected with God.  Coming into the awareness that not only are we supposed to be here, (regardless of what some may have said to or about you), but we are here to accomplish some things, acquire some things…to make an IMPACT for God and His Kingdom here in the earth.

Identify

With the pressures of the world and its system it is quite easy to fall prey to what it says we should look like, have, do and become.  This same pressure then condemns when its perceptions and deceptions are believed and followed.  Oh, but God has a better plan with which we are to identify…a better design for mankind to adhere.

True Worship

True worship of God comes in knowing Him; being acquainted with Him in intimacy.

Book Excerpt: The Godhead

“The time for man’s worshiping God by rote – impersonal and limited to ceremony – ceased with the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.  Everything that separated us from God by the act of treason perpetrated by Adam in the Garden of Eden is removed by the great sacrifice of love through Jesus Christ.

We are created to worship God, to praise and magnify Him, but we are to do so in spirit and in truth; not just in “lip service,” vain repetition in prayer or with chants, nor with mere religious or traditional ceremonies.  Real, true worship is from the heart…of the abundance there…the abundance of who God is and of His love.  We can do this because He first loved us.  So we can actually say that He set for us the standard for love and loving.”

Timeless

Regardless of how long or short a time you have been saved – having accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior – there is always more of God to receive.  The Lord our God, our Father is alive, full of depth and richness, and always desiring us to experience and actually live in Him in that place…intimacy.

Life, with all its busyness and noise, can cause us to task our way further and further away from the very One holding the answers, plans and strategies we so vitally need.  We must always be mindful that every day extends the Lord’s invitation of fullness in Him…every day and at all times.  Yes, the Lord’s heart of love  and compassion for us is timeless.
